Community Involvement
No man can become rich without himself enriching others.
At Walthall Oil Company, we are thankful for the Central Georgia community who has supported our business since our humble beginnings in 1952. We’re committed to being involved in the Central Georgia community and enriching the region by participating in local organizations and monetary support for events and non-profits.
The Walthall Charity Fund
The Walthall Charity Fund is a donor-advised fund established with the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Inc. Through this partnership, Walthall Oil Company has established a lasting legacy of giving that will continue to positively impact our community for generations.
Local Organizations We Support
Walthall Oil Company contributes to dozens of local organizations each year. The following are just some of the organizations that are near and dear to our family:
Macon Regional Crimestoppers
Frank Walthall III, our President and CEO, has served on the board of directors since the inception of Macon Regional Crimestoppers. He is regularly engaged in all of the organization’s great work for the community. Each November, Walthall Oil Company serves as a Platinum Sponsor for the annual Macon Regional Crimestoppers banquet.
Macon Regional Crimestoppers is a local non-profit serving the Bibb, Baldwin, Houston, Jones, Twiggs, Crawford, Monroe, and Peach counties. Through Crimestoppers’ deployed systems and the cooperation with local law enforcement agencies and the 911 Center, citizens in our community have a safe, secure, and confidential means to report crimes. If a ‘tip’ results in an arrest – a reward is paid confidentially and anonymously.
Local law enforcement agencies conduct Crimestoppers investigations, but a board of directors made up of citizens from a broad cross-section of the community is responsible for establishing Macon Regional Crimestoppers’ policy, raising funds, and determining the amount and method of reward payments. Macon Regional Crimestoppers is a non-profit corporation funded by contributions from the community and federal programs.
